Orders Module
The Orders module in Umbrella provides a detailed, policy-aware view of each customer order. It bridges the gap between your store’s fulfillment system (e.g., Shopify) and your post-purchase protection stack — allowing you to view, track, and manage every protection plan sold alongside your products.
You can access:
- Source Shopify orders
- All attached protection plans
- Customer information
- Claim filing and claim history
This is your operational hub for everything sold under a protection plan.
Accessing Orders
From the Umbrella sidebar, go to Orders.
You’ll see a searchable list of all recent orders that include one or more protection plans or shipping protection.
Click into any order to view the full details.
Order Details View
Each order record in Umbrella includes the following:
1. Order Summary Panel (Right Side)
- Order number and date
Synced from Shopify or your store platform - Subtotal, shipping, taxes, and total paid
- Shipping Protection (if purchased)
Includes:- Policy ID
- Status (Eligible, Expired)
- Expiration Date
- Button to File Shipping Protection Claim
- Shipping & Billing Information
Pulled from the original order - Customer Information
Name, email, phone, and direct link to the customer record
2. Policies Section (Main Column)
This section lists every item in the order that has a linked protection plan. Each item is grouped into a Policy block and includes:
- Product name, SKU, and image
- Original price and price paid
- Protection plan name and price
- Term length (e.g., 2 Years)
- Expiration date
- Status: Eligible, Pending, Claimed, Denied, or Expired
- Button to View Policy — opens the full policy record
This gives your team instant access to policy-level data per item in the order, without needing to jump between modules.
3. Claim Actions
For any plan that allows it (based on configuration), you can:
- File a claim directly from the order view
- See claim status at a glance
- Click to View Claim and proceed to resolve or deny
- Manage all follow-up actions: reship, issue credit, mark denied, etc.
Umbrella automatically routes claims to the appropriate product-policy combination based on what’s covered, claim timing, and protection terms.
4. Unprotected Products
At the bottom of the page, Umbrella shows any products from the order that do not have a protection plan.
Use this data to identify missed attachment opportunities or to trigger post-purchase warranty offers.
Actions Available from Orders
From each order page, your team can:
- Jump to the original Shopify order (via embedded link)
- Jump to the customer record in your platform
- View and manage all policies linked to the order
- File or review claims per item or per order
- Validate coverage details (term, status, expiration)
Best Practices
- Use the Orders module to quickly resolve support tickets that mention “my warranty” or “my protection plan”
- Encourage CS agents to file claims on behalf of customers when needed
- Audit expired and unused protection plans via Orders > Filters > “Expired”
- Use the Unprotected Products section to identify SKUs that may need eligibility updates
