The Analytics module helps you understand the financial, operational, and customer behavior impact of your protection offerings — from sales and attachment rates to claims, losses, and profitability.
With powerful visualizations and real-time alerts, you can make data-backed decisions about pricing, coverage, auto-approval rules, and which plans to promote or retire.
Key Dashboards & Metrics
1. Alerts & Insights
At the top of the Analytics module, Umbrella flags any risks or opportunities:
- Pending claims alerts (e.g. “42 pending claims require attention”)
- High claim rate warnings (e.g. "Raise your premium from 9.55% to 12.4% to prevent loss")
- System suggestions (e.g. when to reprice a plan or auto-approve low-value claims)
These alerts are contextual and actionable — helping you stay ahead of risk.
2. Sales & Claims Performance
- New Policies Sold
Total value of warranties sold in the selected time period. - Cost of Claims
Amount paid out on approved claims. - Expected Claims
Predicted number of claims based on historical rates and current sales. - Expected Claim Cost
Forecasted dollar value of claims (useful for loss modeling). - Realized Profit
Profit from expired, unused plans — your cleanest net gain. - Expected Profit
Projected profit after accounting for estimated claims.
3. Conversion & Coverage Metrics
- Units Sold
Total products sold (with or without protection). - Avg Premium
Average price paid by customers for protection plans. - Avg Policy Limit
Maximum claimable value per plan on average. - Total Policy Limit
Total potential exposure if all policies were claimed at full value. - Plans Expired
Total number of protection plans that ended during the period. - Claim Rate
Percentage of policies that resulted in claims.

- Daily Claims
Visualization of claims volume over time — shows seasonality or spikes. - Take Rate
Percentage of customers who bought protection when it was offered. - Claims Summary
Pie chart of resolution types (e.g., reshipped, credit issued, denied, pending).
5. Leaderboards
Top Performing Plans
By revenue. Lets you compare plan types (e.g., Electronics, Furniture, Apparel).
Highest Converting Products
By SKU or product name, month-over-month. Shows which items sell the most warranties.
Highest Claim Rates
Plans or categories with the most frequent claims — helps identify risk.
Highest Loss Rates
Claims vs. cost by product. Spot money-losing plans or products fast.
Using Analytics to Take Action
- High claim rates? Consider adjusting pricing, coverage rules, or adding fraud checks.
- Low take rate? Try better PDP placement or email follow-ups.
- Profitability dipping? Audit claim resolution types and look for abuse or overspending.
- Surplus profit? Reinvest into extended terms, referral programs, or branded marketing.

- Export reports via CSV (custom date range, filters)
